QSI, owner of PSG, would like to invest in Malaga

This is information from Spanish radio Cadena Cope: Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), owner of PSG, could buy 51% of the shares of the Spanish club Malaga for 9 million euros. An inexpensive sum since the Iberian club is in a delicate financial and sporting situation (20th in the Spanish second division out of 22). The current owner of the Andalusian institution is none other than Abdallah ben Nasser Al Thani, a distant cousin of the Emir of Qatar.

If this operation were to succeed, it would confirm QSI’s desire to establish a galaxy of clubs, like what the City Football Group, owner of Manchester City and many other satellite clubs like Troyes, did. QSI had already bought 21% of the shares of the Braga club in 2022.
