Primoz Roglic sprints through wind and weather to 2nd stage victory and is new leader | Tirreno – Adriatico 2023

The Italian wind was not as fierce as in Paris-Nice, but the organization should have shortened the final climb by 2.5 kilometers before the start.

The very hard headwind was of course no ally to quickly ignite the fire on the most difficult col of this Tirreno.

Only at 4.5 kilometers from the top did a daredevil raise his hand with Damiano Caruso.

The Italian character head was only caught under the rag by a bunch with Enric Mas, but even now the accordion folded shut due to the nasty wind and certainly thanks to luxury servant Wilco Kelderman.

The atypical sprint then didn’t get going: the washing machine was spinning because of the gusts of wind.

But Primoz Roglic remained cool-headed and was sheltered long enough. His timing was perfect, he took the stage and the leader’s jersey.

Roglic now takes the blue with 4 seconds on Kämna.
