National Basketball Association (NBA) Washington Wizards basketball player Kristaps Porzingis commented on the loss against the Toronto Raptors at the post-game press conference.

It has already been announced that last night the Wizards lost to the Raptors 109-117 in overtime, overcoming a 13-point deficit during the match. Porzingis spent almost 40 minutes on the court, scoring 22 points and 11 assists.

“As the match progressed, it became more and more difficult to play because we could no longer freely pass the ball to three-point shots, the opponents worked well with their hands and intercepted passes. A tough loss against a good defensive team. Bill is our walkthrough guy and we trust him with them. And he made them. Brad created what he could for us. Maybe in some situations, even before extra time, we could have played better positionally,” the Latvian believes.

“But we gave everything in this game. We fought hard, we fought back, in the fourth quarter we were down nine, or even 11. The fans pushed us forward and we knew we wanted to close the gap to zero. But [uzvarai] we missed a bit, although we had very good chances and we still managed to fight back [pamatlaikā]. We have already had several such games. But we have to move on with our heads held high, there are no other options,” assured Porziņgis.

“We know that the value of such games is almost double, because if you win, you cause a loss to the nearby team. We knew and they knew how important both those matches were. There is a “play-off” atmosphere in these games, because we are fighting for the “play-off”, says the basketball player.
