The rest has unquestionably been good for Jolie Prince (#16). Absent from August to February, he imposed himself on his return. Despite 2.5 kg of penalty, he then obtained a second on March 4. Eleven days later, he once again distinguished himself by winning the finest jewel of his career. To do this, he was quickly placed at the forefront by his jockey, Aurélien Lemaitre, even though he had inherited the outermost number in the starting stalls. And in the final phase of this 1,900m long course at the Chantilly racecourse, he proved intractable. “We had decided to move forward like the last time, confided the winning driver to Equidia’s microphone. Everything went well, and we were able to get covered so it was only beneficial. This victory allows Conny Whitfield, a professional based in Germany to also win her first quinté.
Despite a good defense, Portalis (n° 5) must be satisfied with the second at the expense of Lorenzo de Medici (n° 6), which took time to balance before finishing well. The favourite, Gaidar (n° 3), fails at the foot of the podium but has no excuse to make while Nightlab (#1), the biggest weight in the event, completes the right combination.
