Player stunt team Spakenburg arouses interest from several professional clubs

Stunt team SV Spakenburg is doing very well in the KNVB Cup and that also arouses interest from professional clubs. Vince Gino Dekker already played at Ajax in the youth, but gets enough calls from professional football clubs. At the moment, the player who lives in Ermelo is not thinking about it yet.

After the sensational win over FC Utrecht, Dekker came back into the spotlight. Outside Ajax, the winger also played for AZ and Go Ahead Eagles. “In principle, I will be a Spakenburg player for another 2.5 years,” Dekker says in the ESPN podcast. “Now I get a lot of calls from clubs. Not from the Birds,” he laughs. Last summer, the wing attacker switched to archrival IJsselmeervogels and that caused Dekker a lot of hassle, so he decided to stay with Spakenburg. “Let’s take a look this summer. How or what. I’m having a great time at Spakenburg. Only if a really nice club comes along, you can’t say no to that. So that’s going to take a look.”

There are even clubs at the highest level interested in the former Ajax player. “Bottom of the Eredivisie. Top of the Kitchen Champion Division,” says Dekker. Although the attacker has a good life now with a good job on the side. “I’m in the right place at Spakenburg. I have a good life outside of it. I have two children that I can now give a lot of attention to. So it has to be right. For me it’s more the club itself.”

Clubs that are interested must have a nice atmosphere. It must be a renowned club and a club where things are possible. It may not even be financially attractive to return to professional football, so it must be a really nice challenge. “It must be warm. I don’t know, De Graafschap, PEC Zwolle, NAC Breda. Those are of course super nice clubs to play football for. And with all due respect, Telstar, FC Dordrecht, Helmond Sport. I just don’t feel that way. Or Almere City, which is third. I also think it is important that it is a good club from the outside.”
