LEADERS CHART

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Canadian Adam Svensson continued his work early Saturday morning to complete his second round which had been stopped the day before due to weather conditions at the PGA Players Championship.

Tied for the lead with seven holes to play, Svensson took a par on Saturday morning to post a second-round score of 67 and take the tournament lead alone.

Svensson’s day probably didn’t start as expected, he bogeyed on his first hole of the day, on the par-3 on the third hole.

Svensson picked up his pace, however, and he made two birdies to complete his round. Svensson is 9-under so far after 36 holes.

He is followed by American and world No. 2 Scottie Scheffler, who gave up a score of 69 in the second round to climb alone in second place, two shots from the lead.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout (70), who shared the lead with Svensson when play was stopped on Friday, had a tougher morning with two bogeys in four holes and he slipped to third, tied with Ben Griffin (71) and Min Woo Lee (70).

Canadian Taylor Pendrith, who also completed his second round on Saturday morning, bogeyed to end his round with a score of 73. He is 10th in the tournament.

Another Canadian in the running, Adam Hadwin (70) is 16th, six shots off the lead. Nick Taylor (75), Corey Conners (75) and Mackenzie Hughes (76) were unable to advance to the weekend rounds.

World No. 3 Rory McIlroy was also kicked out of the final two rounds after handing out cards of 76 and 73.
