Peñarol defeated Aguada 85-82 at the Palace and put the series 2-1 in their favor

Peñarol received Aguada at the Palacio Cr. Gastón Güelfi for the third point of their play-in series and was left with the victory by figures of 85-82. In this way, Pablo López’s team was one win away from being among the eight best in the Uruguayan Basketball League.

Aguada started better, with a high goal score and taking a 7-point lead midway through the first quarter. In addition, he was strong in defense and made it difficult for Peñarol when it came to scoring. In the second game, Aurinegro, based on a good defense, managed to equalize the process and take the lead on the scoreboard, but Aguatero improved at the end and went on winning at the long break by 42-49.

Peñarol won 85-82 and, in this way, put the series 2-1 in their favor and next Thursday they can fasten their ticket to the quarterfinals.

Aurinegro’s three scorers finished with 21 points: Salvador Zanotta, who registered 7 assists, Charles Thomas and Lee Roberts, who added 12 rebounds. In the Aguatero, Eloy Vargas finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds, and Gelvis Solano with 17.
