Peñarol received Aguada at the Palacio Cr. Gastón Güelfi for the third point of their play-in series and was left with the victory by figures of 85-82. In this way, Pablo López’s team was one win away from being among the eight best in the Uruguayan Basketball League.
Aguada started better, with a high goal score and taking a 7-point lead midway through the first quarter. In addition, he was strong in defense and made it difficult for Peñarol when it came to scoring. Peñarol won 85-82 and, in this way, put the series 2-1 in their favor and next Thursday they can fasten their ticket to the quarterfinals.
Aurinegro’s three scorers finished with 21 points: Salvador Zanotta, who registered 7 assists, Charles Thomas and Lee Roberts, who added 12 rebounds. In the Aguatero, Eloy Vargas finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds, and Gelvis Solano with 17.
