Paris Saint-Germain’s Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi is on suspicion of rape in the French courts. As the dpa agency learned from the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office, investigations were initiated against the 24-year-old after a survey. Hakimi’s attorney, Fanny Colin, told the newspaper The Parisian said: “The allegations are false.”
A 24-year-old woman told police she was raped by Hakimi last weekend. Her lawyer told the AFP news agency: “My client stands by all of these statements. She has decided to only speak to the judiciary.”
PSG supported the former Dortmund defender after the allegation became known. Coach Christophe Galtier said at a press conference on Friday that he would “not answer any questions about Hakimi”. In terms of sport, it is planned to get the recently injured Hakimi fit for the Champions League second leg at Bayern next Wednesday. PSG striker Neymar will certainly not be there in Munich. The Brazilian is definitely out because of his ankle injury, Galtier reported.
