Austria’s team player Xaver Schlager underwent successful surgery on his right ankle on Monday. This was announced by the German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on Tuesday. The operation was performed in Munich. The 25-year-old midfielder suffered a syndesmosis ligament injury shortly before the end of the 2-1 defeat at Borussia Dortmund on Friday. According to Leipzig, Schlager will be missing from fourth in the table “for a long time”.
Christopher Nkunku is also about to take another break. The offensive player, who recently made his comeback, is out “for the time being” due to a small torn muscle fiber in his left thigh.
