Nordic World Ski Championships – Four Norwegians run ahead – Sport

Cross-country skier Friedrich Moch scored eighth for Germany’s best World Cup result over 15 kilometers in 16 years. The 22-year-old from Isny was only 43.5 seconds short of a medal in Planica. The Norwegians once again demonstrated their exceptional class: Simen Hegstad Krüger won the free technique ahead of his three teammates Harald Oestberg Amundsen, Hans Christer Holund and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo. For Krüger it was the second world title in Slovenia. The 29-year-old had already triumphed in the skiathlon. In the fight against the clock, Moch was in seventh place for almost all intermediate times, only losing a little ground in the last meters. “It was pretty tough today. At the end of the long climb I ran out a bit,” he said. The young cross-country skier, who had already impressed in seventh place in the skiathlon, can still be satisfied: From a German point of view, Tobias Angerer was last better over this distance with his third place in 2007 in Sapporo.

The other DSV athletes showed a solid team performance: Jonas Dobler from Traunstein came in 18th place, Lucas Bögl from Gaißach in 25th place and Janosch Brugger from Schluchsee in 31st place. The relay is on the program on Friday.

On Tuesday, Pia Fink had already achieved the best DSV result in ten years over ten kilometers in seventh place.
