No world final for Amina Zidani

In the semi-final of the women’s world boxing championships, Amina Zidani fell against the Italian Irma Testa (Italy). The boxer from Team SPORTMAG still leaves with the bronze.

Impeccable until then against quality opponents, Amina Zidani knew that this Thursday was going to be tough. Opposite the French: the Italian Irma Testa, part of the last Olympic Games in Tokyo and one of the best in the world in this category of -57kg. A transalpine boxer until then appeared very strong in these Worlds, just like the Frenchwoman.

Between the two fighters, it is indeed Irma Testa who starts the best. The Italian dominates her opponent with a head on the physical level. Also endowed with sprawling arms, the Transalpine takes the fight on its own in the first round: defeat 5-0 for the boxer from Team SPORTMAG.

A hard-won 2nd round

However, Amina Zidani is quick to react. The French goes on the attack in the second round. Sure of her strength, she uses her arm, which finds the target. The Norman manages to chain several times to afford this second round (3-2). Between the two boxers, the third and last round is therefore decisive.

The Italian and the French threw their last forces into battle. But Irma Testa again takes advantage of her reach to land a few decisive blows. Even if the debates seemed balanced until the end, it is the Italian who is named winner of this semi-final. It is therefore she who will have a chance to win gold. For Amina Zidani, it will be bronze at the end of world championships necessarily extremely promising for the future.
