NFL legend Tom Brady becomes a shareholder of the Las Vegas Aces (WNBA)

At 45, Brady said he was honored to acquire a stake in a “world class organization with an incredible team of athletes”. In a video posted on social media, the ex-Patriots player, where he built his legend, shared his attraction to the WNBA, among other things: “My love for women’s sport started at a young age when I followed all the matches of my older sisters”

The majority owner of the Las Vegas Aces, Mark Davis, had bought the franchise before the start of the 2021 season. Less than two years later, his players had beaten the Connecticut Sun in the final to win the WNBA title. The American businessman welcomed the financial participation of Tom Brady. The man who also owns the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL described the arrival at the club of the former American football star as “victory for women’s professional sport”.

The next big deadline for the North American league will be April 10 with the 2023 WNBA Draft. The start of the regular season is scheduled for May 19.
