New clothing sponsor immediately makes Feyenoord fans happy with away shirts

Feyenoord will also play with blue away shirts in the coming season. There is a new clothing sponsor of the Rotterdammers, Castore, who has decided to design a shirt that looks a lot like a jersey from a distant, but very successful past.

In the 1998/99 season, not coincidentally the season in which Feyenoord became champion of the Netherlands, the team from Rotterdam wore dark blue Adidas shirts (see photo). According to the generally well-informed 1908.nl, there will be an away shirt next season that is very similar to the shirt of that specific year. It is not clear why that particular season was chosen.

In any case, the new sponsor Castore is unpacking, because there will not be three, but a total of four (!) Shirts for the various competitions. In addition to the regular home kit, there will be a green away shirt (in view of the city colors, this has been a wish of the supporters for years) and there will be another (more modern) shirt in addition to the dark blue. That is on the condition that Feyenoord qualifies for European football, but the club is well on its way to that.

Although there are no previews of the shirts yet, the first reactions to Feyenoord’s choice are positive. Most fans think it’s a well-chosen shirt and can also agree with the choice of an extra fourth shirt.
