New additions among the rossoblù “Girls” for another season as protagonists in Serie A2

ROVIGO – The new A2 softball Series has taken shape for a few weeks, which will also see the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo at the starting line. After the incredible 2022 season, which closed with a sensational qualification for the championship final and the consequent title of Italian vice-champion in the category, the rossoblù girls are preparing to face a new year as protagonists. Also this year the championship is structured in two groups, with home and away matches, and in the subsequent summer playoffs. The polesans have been included in Group B and will have to contend with many teams already known and faced in past seasons, plus other climbs from the lower category. Castionese, Longbridge Bologna, Nuove Pantere Lucca, White Tigers Massa and the newly promoted Nettuno and Stars Ronchi dei Legionari are part of the grouping. Seven teams also in Group A: Collecchio, Bulls Saronno, Avignana, Sacco Legnano, Nuoro, New Bollate and Farma Crocetta.

No need to hide. With the still vivid memory of last year’s splendid “remuntada”, Rovigo can and must aim high. The goal of the “Girls” coached by coaches Javier Pino Soto, Adriano Morabito and Cristina Pollato is to hit another playoff qualification national teams, to then go all out against the strongest teams in Serie A2. To succeed in the enterprise it will be necessary to limit missteps and remain as close as possible to the leading positions in the group. It won’t be easy, considering that many of the future opponents of the rossoblù girls are strengthening consistently, also drawing from abroad. The level of competition is therefore destined to rise, but Rovigo has not been idle and to confirm itself among the “big” has perfected some quality grafts which will raise the general level of the team. The Danish have entered the Rovigo roster Evie Graig, 23 year old receptionist, Valeria Munarettofrom Vicenza who comes from Bussolengo in Serie A1, e Sara Sprocatti, first baseman and pitcher from Turin who arrived in Veneto to combine study and softball.

In addition to the technical aspect, the logistical aspect will weigh as always during the championship. With the arrival of Nettuno, the girls from Polesine will have to face an even longer away match than those already foreseen in the fields of their Tuscan opponents. It starts on April 15 with the external challenge to Castionese on the Castions di Strada diamond. First home game on 30 April against Longbridge Bologna.
