There has been a lot of whispering in Munich in the past few days. Now things happened quickly: FC Bayern is parting ways with coach Julian Nagelsmann – and already has a successor ready in Thomas Tuchel.

First, Fabrizio Romano reported that the Bayern coach wobbles – and that Thomas Tuchel, who is currently without a club, is the top candidate in Munich as his successor. When asked if Nagelsmann had already found out something about this from the club, the 35-year-old told kicker: “No, not yet!”
But then it happened quickly. Bayern are parting ways with their coach and are about to sign Tuchel. According to kicker information, there has already been contact between Tuchel and FC Bayern in the past few days.
Tuchel, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 and lives in Munich, could well imagine an engagement. However, the 49-year-old was in close contact with Tottenham Hotspur. The project in London pleases the German coach, who was recently associated with Real Madrid.
Those responsible for the German record champions, who were by no means happy with the development under the 35-year-old and the loss of the lead in the table after the 2-1 defeat in Leverkusen, are hoping for the bid. Tuchel is expected to lead FCB in the Dortmund game on April 1, and his signature is expected in Munich on Friday or Saturday.
Before the top duel with Borussia Dortmund and the quarter-finals against Manchester City, Munich’s goals for the season are in acute danger. In the past few days, the coaching team had looked after the non-national players on Säbener Straße in consultation and didn’t want to meet again until the beginning of next week to analyze the defeat and start preparing for the decisive weeks.
