MLB: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. could return to training on Saturday

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is feeling better and may return to practice this weekend.

Guerrero is dealing with a right knee injury that the team calls “minor inflammation” in his right knee. He left the matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays last Friday in the second inning. Medical examinations did not reveal any structural damage to the knee.

As a precaution, Guerrero withdrew from the World Baseball Classic where he was to represent the Dominican Republic.

In 10 at-bats during spring camp, Vladimir hit two homers and scored five runs.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Blue Jays lost the flag 7-2 to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

On a positive note for Toronto, pitcher Yusei Kikuchi held the opposition to two walks in three innings on the mound. He struck out two batters.
