VINELAND, NJ — Mike TroutA three-time AL MVP, has always wanted a golf course and chose 18-time major champion Tiger Woods to design it.

The center fielder of Los Angeles Angels is building, together with a partner in New Jersey, a golf course called “Trout National — The Reserve”. The field is near where Trout was born in southern New Jersey.

They hired Woods’ architectural firm, TGR Design, to create the 18-hole course, a driving range, and a small playground.

“I love South Jersey and I love golf so creating Trout National — The Reserve is a dream come true,” said the player. “And to add that we will have a course designed by Tiger, it is amazing to think that this project has grown to the point where we will be working with someone who is considered the greatest and most influential golfer of all time.”

Construction plans are slated to begin this year for the private club that will be 45 minutes south of Philadelphia and is expected to open in 2025 to its members.

“I’ve always enjoyed seeing Mike on the diamond, so when the opportunity to work with him at Trout National — The Reserve arose, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity,” Woods acknowledged. “It’s a great place for golf and our team is excited to create a special course.”

Among the courses that TGR Design has designed are Bluejack National in Houston, El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Payne’s Valley in Missouri.
