After having a bitter debut in the World Baseball Classic 2023, Mexico got up. At Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, the Tri defeated 11-5 USA in a match within Group C.
On Saturday the Aztec squad entered the tournament with a surprising 5-4 defeat in extra-innings against Colombiaso they came to the duel before their neighbors with your back against the wall.
With the victory, Mexico entered the fight to advance to the quarterfinals of the WBC within Group C which is rounded by Colombia, Canada and Great Britain.
The key man for El Tri was undoubtedly Joey Meneses. The Sinaloan hit two home runs and drove in five runs. He had three total hits in his five at-bats.
In apneas the third at-bat of the game, Meneses homered on a pitch from Nick Martínez. prompted Randy Arozarena for 2-0.

And in the fourth inning, the first baseman of the Washington Nationals went away again. He hit a ball Brady Singer to boost Arozarena and Alex Verdugo. Extended Mexico’s lead to 7-1.
