members of the PJ express their “disgust” in Bordeaux

Once again, as in many cities, they intended to signify their opposition to the national police reform which hits hard this police entity dedicated to the investigation and the fight against complex crime, in matters as diverse as narcotics, organized crime or breaches of probity.

“Cosmetic” changes

Neither the strong mobilization of the PJists gathered within the National Association of the Judicial Police (ANPJ), an association created in response to the reform project, for several months, nor the reports from the parliamentary information missions have had because of the desire of the Minister of the Interior to put in place the reform placing the PJ under the authority of a departmental director reporting directly to the prefect, and who would oversee all the police services of the departments.

Friday March 3, contrary to the recommendations of the Senate which proposed a moratorium until the end of the Paris Olympics, Gérald Darmanin announced the implementation of the reform by the end of 2023.

In a press release, the ANPJ points to the “disgust” of the PJ police officers in the face of a final draft mixed, according to it, with “cosmetic” amendments, “poorly designed, badly conducted and erratically experienced”, and which seals “the ‘incredible performance in bringing down the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police’. The association announces that it wants to request an audience with the President of the Republic.
