Marseille knocked out by Annecy in the Coupe de France

Marseille, who had eliminated Paris Saint-Germain by 2-1 in the round of 16, ended up falling in the quarters. The Marseilles, playing at home at the Estadio Vélodrome, with more than 60,000 supporters, were surprised by Annecy, a second-tier French club.

Marseille even started better and opened the scoring with a goal scored by Frenchman Jordan Veretout in the 29th minute of the game.

Playing against a team from a lower level, the Marseilles miss the victory.

In just six minutes, at 53 and 59, Annecy scored two goals scored by Malian-Ivorian Moise Dion Sahi and Frenchman Kévin Mouanga.

Annecy qualified for the semi-finals, after a 2-2 draw and a 7-6 victory on penaltiesbeing the only second-tier club to still be present in the competition.

In other matches, o Nantesholder of the title, beat Lens 2-1, it was also with this result that Lyon defeated Grenoblewhile Toulouse crushed Rodez 6-1.

Remember that the Coupe de France final takes place on 29 April 2023 no Stade de France.
