Marlians. Tao, 10 years old, triple regional badminton champion

Since last weekend, Tao Facon has been triple champion of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté badminton in the chicks category (under 11 years old).

“I’m 10 years old, I live in Marliens with my parents and my brother Loïc. I am in class of CM2 at the school of my village”, exposes the young boy. Who continues his presentation by focusing on the sporting side: “Passionate about badminton since my youngest age, I am licensed at the AS Quetigny club where I train two to three times a week. My trainers are Jacques Owono, Hadrien Harand and Mathieu Hubert-Sibuet. »

Favorite status

And today, he is very proud of his results. “I won the Côte-d’Or championship in November, and that’s how I qualified for the regional championship which was held last weekend in Morteau, in the Doubs. I won the men’s singles and won the mixed doubles with Morgan, from Quingey (Doubs), as well as the men’s doubles with Gabriel Poimboeuf, from Héricourt (Haute-Saône). »

His mother Lucie confides: “This match was played with pressure, but Tao ensured, we are proud of him. »

Tao is taking part in his first national competitions this season, which has allowed him to gain experience and assume his favorite status.
