Marcelo’s return to Fluminense didn’t just affect the imagination of the tricolor fan. In Xerém, the base kids were also excited with the return of one of their greatest exponents. With a history of being called up to Brazil’s national teams, the left-backs Jefté and Esquerdinha reported that they were inspired by the arrival of the left-back, a reference for both.
“I couldn’t believe it when I found out that he had returned. Marcelo is certainly a reference for everyone who plays in our position. And because he is a Moleque de Xerém too, he is even more special to me. He is an inspiration to keep working hard, evolving, to make my dreams come true and give joy to Fluminense fans and the national team, as well as Marcelo”, said Jefté, captain of the Under-20 tricolor team.
With great prominence in last year’s U-16, which drew the attention of fans for international titles and victories against the big European clubs, left-back Esquerdinha has become a reference in the position in the Brazilian base. The player said he was excited with Marcelo’s return.

Marcelo will land in Rio de Janeiro to join the squad commanded by coach Fernando Diniz shortly, after completing the procedures for his move. The left-back will be registered by the club for the Copa Libertadores de América competition.
