Ligue 2: Bordeaux hooked by Saint-Étienne in the duel of monuments

This duel, which smelled like Ligue 1, finally ended in a draw. Both relegated last season following poor performances, Bordeaux and Saint-Étienne failed to decide between Matmut Atlantique (1-1), during the 26th day of Ligue 2. With this draw, the Girondins keep their second place, synonymous with climbing into the elite, but are only two points ahead of Sochaux, third, who have one game less and could pass them in the event of a victory against Caen on Monday.

Yet the people of Bordeaux had done the hardest part. Manhandled and embarrassed in the game because of the high pressing of the Greens, they conceded two huge chances from Nkounkou on the half-hour mark (26th, 27th) and could have been led to the score on a cross from Appiah which was diverted by Yoann Barbet on the post (34th). Finally, the light came from Aliou Badji, who deceived Gaultier Larsonneur with a shot from the right foot as soon as he returned from the locker room (46th).

Krasso puts the Greens afloat

Always fragile defensively, the Girondins were punished at the end of the match by Jean-Philippe Krasso. Sparkling this season, the Ivorian striker tied the two teams by scoring his 13th league goal on a penalty, obtained by Abdoul Kader Bamba (82nd). With this draw, the Greens, who were on a series of four consecutive victories, go back to eleventh place in the standings and thus see the red zone move away.
