Ligue 1: Toulouse-Lille interrupted because of … hail

They are not always there, but this year in Toulouse, they are there and there: the showers of March came to play the spoilsports this Saturday afternoon, during the match between the TFC and the LOSC.

We had just passed the 25th minute of play at the Stadium, the two teams were still back to back (0-0), when the sky suddenly darkened above the pink city. As several times in recent days, a hailstorm as instantaneous as violent then fell on the city. If some purple supporters remained singing cheerfully in the stands, the 22 actors and the referee, Mr. Ben El Hadj, did not hesitate long before returning to take shelter in the passageways.

In total, the stoppage of play lasted about twelve minutes, the time for the downpour to calm down and the weather conditions to make the match playable again.

An unusual, even rare parenthesis, which added salt to an intriguing match between two attractive teams. Toulouse, 11th in Ligue 1, is one of the nice surprises of the season and already seems to have its support in its pocket. Losc, 6th, must meanwhile regain victory and continue to exist in the race for Europe after two consecutive draws.
