Lamperti and Belluati, the destroyers

The second day of the Round of 16 of the Paraguay Padel Open began with the main course. A great match between two of the couples called to fight for titles this year. On one side of the track, the twins Sanchez Alayeto. In the other, the semifinalists from Chile, Delfi Brea and Sofia Araujo.

Majo and Mapi were the ones who started the game more plugged in, and with a 2-0 score they presented their weapons. That first break as soon as it started gave them wings to continue advancing forcefully. Although Delfi and Sofi raised the level and intensity, they could not recover the break against and with a 6-4the Alayeto were ahead in the game.

In the second, it was Delfi and Sofia who found the reward for their work. In the fourth game, they took the lead with a break that, although it was not definitive, helped them play more easily within the 20×10. They began to enjoy the game and thanks to their offensive work, they closed the second with a 6-3. A third in which the twins struck first with a break that placed them 3-1. A distance that Delfi and Sofia instantly cut to equalize the luminous three. With the 5-4 against, the Argentine-Portuguese couple raised a match point and in the next one, they were placed up to 0-40 to break. They did not succeed, and the tie break would be in charge of passing sentence. A sudden death in which Sofia Araújo and Delfi Brea closed the battle with a 7-4.

Alonso/Merino VS Stagnia/Cepede

Turn on the center court to receive the next four protagonists. The Spanish couple Melania Merino and Alejandra Alonso, was up against the local Wildcards, Verónica Cepede and Arianna Stagni.

The apparent superiority of Merino and Alonso was reflected on the track from very early on in the clash. 4-1 start for them, who did not want to be surprised by the Paraguayan couple. Cepede and Stagni added one more game in their favor, but it was not going to be enough to stand up to Merino and Alonso. The Spanish couple closed the first set with a 6-2.

In the second episode Merino and Alonso once again took the lead on the track. The Paraguayan duo tried to become strong in front of their audience, but the rest were not comfortable. Throughout the match, they did not have any opportunity to break in their favor. This was taken advantage of in the best possible way by Merino and Alonso, who opened a gap in the light. With a 6-2 y 6-1 final, Melania Merino and Alejandra Alonso took the victory.

Lamperti/Belluati VS Jofre/Hernández

The head office was preparing to enjoy the show of one of the most charismatic couples on the circuit. Michael Lamperti and John Cruz Belluati, In their last tournament as a duo, they faced another that had just won all four games in the preliminary phase and played their first final draw together: Luis Hernandez and Inigo Jofre.

The first set was to be a demonstration of dominance by Lamperti and Belluati. Juan showed a stratospheric level, and Miguelito accompanied him perfectly. With that version, added to the nerves and inexperience of Jofre and Hernández in these instances, the Argentines resolved the first set in a matter of minutes with a 6-0 score.

In the second, Lamperti and Belluati started commanding again with an early break. Although the match was more even, the favorites did not lower their arms. That ambition led them to close their pass to the Round of 16 with a 6-3 in the second set.

Rubio / Ruiz VS Lavall / Fernández

The last match of the day faced on the center court of the SND Arena Gonzalo Rubio and Javi Ruiz against the local Wildcards, Fernando Lavall and Matías Fernández. With the support of the local fans, the Paraguayans started well planted on the track during the first games. However, Rubio and Ruiz would soon assert their superiority in the ranking. With patience and intelligent play, the Spanish escaped on the scoreboard to open a gap that was very difficult to save. With a 6-1, they took the first set.

In the second chapter the start of Rubio and Ruiz could not be better. The first four games fell on their side to once again dominate their rivals. Fernando Lavall and Matías Fernández tried to get closer on the scoreboard, but it would not be enough. In less than an hour of the match, Gonzalo Rubio and Javi Ruiz won by 6-1 y 6-2 in first round.
