The Kyrgyz ice hockey players achieved their biggest success in the tournament so far on Thursday evening, when the team that won the fourth division last season managed to score 22 goals in the fortress of Malaysia. Kyrgyzstan took 78 (!) more shots on goal than the Malaysians during the game.
The 20-year-old born in Kazakhstan collected impressive individual statistics Mamed Seifulov, who represents the Kazakhstan master racing club “Almaty”. Seifulov scored seven goals and assisted three times in the game against Malaysia.
It is Seifulov with 17 (12+5) points earned in three matches that is the most productive hockey player of the tournament. Hongkonger Chang Pang Justin Cheng (6+6) and Kyrgyz Islambek Abdirayev (2+10) have collected 12 points each.
