Judo district final – Bodensee-Gymnasium Lindau

On Tuesday, March 7th, the district final of the “Youth trains for the Olympics” competition in the sport of judo took place in Neusäß near Augsburg. For Samuel Pienle, Lukas Vögeli, Jan Felix Eckert and Anton Ruf it was the first school competition they took part in, so the excitement was corresponding. The school teams competed against each other in five weight classes. Since the Bogy’s school team could only occupy four of the five weight classes, a fight encounter was automatically lost. In order to win against another school team, a maximum of one more fight was allowed to be lost. First it was against the Heinrich-von-Buz-Realschule Augsburg. All fights were won convincingly with 4:1. The next opponent, the team from the Justus-von-Liebig-Gymnasium Neusäß, had very experienced judoka with higher belts. Despite strong resistance, three fights were lost, whereby the Bogy’s team finally took the excellent second place. Congratulations!
