MIAMI — Shohei Ohtani played heroes in the ninth inning with a double and Munetaka Murakami hit a two-run double to help Japan beat Mexico 6-5 on Monday to advance to the World Baseball Classic final. .
Luis Urias hit a three-run homer for Mexico in the fourth inning to open the scoring.
Ohtani scored in the seventh inning when Masataka Yoshida hit a three-run tying homer off reliever JoJo Romero.
Japan will face defending champions USA in the final on Tuesday.
