Hugo Borst can’t believe his eyes: “What a vandal he is, a disgrace”

Julio Velázquez showed his bad side again on Saturday evening during the match between Fortuna Sittard and FC Twente. The Limburgers’ trainer hit the dugout several times hard and that incident was discussed in the studio of ESPN. The analysts of services left no stone unturned from the Spaniard.

“Oh no, isn’t it. Oh, dear. What a vandal. He is a disgrace to the trainers’ guild, the proletarian of the trainers’ corps. If you are a trainer at Almere City or Fortuna Sittard, you know that things are often against you. Then you have to control”, Hugo Borst shouted when he saw the images from Sittard for the first time. Kees Luijckx was particularly impressed by Fortuna’s dugout. “It is made of good material, isn’t it, that dug-out,” said the smiling former footballer.

Hedwiges Maduro couldn’t exactly laugh at Velázquez’s action. “We have often heard that this is because it is a Spaniard. But they do not do this there either. They are busy along the line in Spain, but they really do not ram into a dugout,” said Maduro , which was completed by Kees Kwakman. “You also have a certain exemplary function as a trainer. It is waiting for someone in the field at Fortuna to give a rock kick.”

Velázquez apologized afterwards for the behavior. His frustrations stemmed from an alleged foul by Twente in the run-up to the 0-2, which went unpunished. “I didn’t think it was a goal, that was 100 per cent clear to me. I thought it was incredible. But I don’t like seeing myself so frustrated. Sorry about that. We’re human beings, it’s hard to deal with something like that. We now have to focus on the next game,” the coach said ESPN.
