House in jail for killing his brother-in-law

The only person identified as possibly responsible for the death of Ceferino Campos, because of a beating with a baseball bat, was sent home to jail.

This is a 44-year-old man, brother-in-law of the deceased, who was apprehended by units of the Herrera Judicial Investigation Section.

After the guarantee control hearing, this person was charged for his alleged participation in the act, and faces charges for the crime against life and personal integrity, in the form of homicide.

The Herrera Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that it achieved its accusation for homicide to the detriment of Campos, an event that occurred on March 7.

The guarantee judge determined house arrest, while The investigations are advancing, a measure that will be appealed by the Prosecutor’s Office, it was reported.

It was learned that the events occurred in the surroundings of a grocery store from the township of Llano Bonito de Chitré, in Herrera, in the middle of a discussion in which the baseball bat came up.

According to acquaintances, the person had mental problems and it was not the first time that attacks of this type occurred.

Unfortunately, after the last fight, Campos ended up in the hospital where brain death was determined, dying three days later.

This is the second death by homicide in this year in the province of Herrera.
