The loss is great for Anderlecht, because Yari Verschaeren has turned out to be a pivotal figure under Brian Riemer in recent months. The midfielder will also miss next summer’s European Championship for U23.
“Yari has been one of our best players this season and has been a crucial part of the positive evolution this team has experienced in recent months,” said coach Brian Riemer on the club website.
“His injury is obviously a great loss for the team, but more importantly we sympathize with Yari who will not be with us for the next few months. He is such an important part of the Anderlecht family. One thing is certain: we will do everything we can to get Yari back to his best level in 2024.”
