Harvested 2 gold, silver and bronze at the Korea Junior Badminton Netherlands Open

The Korean junior badminton team won two gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2022 Netherlands Junior Open.

The Korean Junior National Team won gold medals in women’s singles and mixed doubles and silver medals in women’s singles and women’s doubles at the finals of the tournament held in Haarlem, Netherlands on the 6th (Korean time).

In the women’s singles, ‘shuttlecock prodigy’ twin sisters Kim Min-ji and Kim Min-sun (Isang Chiak High School) faced each other and shared the gold and silver medals.

Younger sister Kim Min-sun gave up the gold medal to older sister Kim Min-ji after withdrawing due to a thigh injury in the 3rd set 9-11 with a set score of 1-1.

In the women’s doubles, they teamed up to win a bronze medal.

In addition, Park Beom-soo (Dangjinbo High School) and Yeon Seo-yeon (Hwasun High School) won the mixed doubles final by defeating China’s Zhu Yijun and Huang Kexin 2-0 (21-15 21-17).

In the women’s doubles final, Seul Park (Yeongdeok High School) and Seoyeon Yeon (Hwasun High School) won the silver medal after losing 1-2 (10-21 21-13 21-23) to Ririna Hiramoto and Riko Kiyose of Japan.

In the men’s doubles, Cho Hyeon-woo (Seoul Physical Education High School) and Lee Jong-min (Gwangmyeong Book High School) failed to reach the final and took the bronze medal.
