February has been a month of low temperatures, but it has also been the month to see again the courtyard of the Batallar de l’Alcúdia public school full of girls and boys playing basketball.
Once the limitations of the pandemic were overcome, the 3×3 school tournament of the Municipal Basketball School has been played again, a competition very followed by schoolchildren. Throughout the months of February and March, more than 150 boys and girls born between 2011 and 2016 have been able to enjoy sport and the excitement of competition.
Throughout three weekends, the players and family members have filled the school facilities until Saturday, March 4, when each category played its respective final and the medals were awarded.
The 3×3 school tournament is enjoyed in collaboration with the City Council, the AMPA,
the physical education teachers and the Municipal Basketball School, which has already accumulated 23 years of promoting this sport in l’Alcúdia.
In the town there is a great love for basketball and there are many minors who practice this sport thanks to the EMBA. With tournaments such as the one that has been held at the Batallar school, it is possible to awaken interest in basketball but, above all, in practicing sports and its benefits at an early age. Healthy competition between schoolchildren is a lot of fun.
