Furious against the VAR, Theo Bongonda’s club makes a crazy request! – All football

Now playing in Cadiz (LaLiga), Theo Bongonda saw his club feel cheated by the (non) use of video refereeing.

On January 16, during the meeting between Cadiz and Elche, Ezequiel Ponce scored, in the 81st, the equalizing goal for the visitors (1-1). The problem is that the phase seemed to be marred by an obvious offside position, and neither the match referee nor the VAR saw fit to intervene.

In reaction to this error – which could cost them very expensive points in the race to maintain, the Cadiz club first filed a complaint with the RFEF (Spanish football federation), asking to replay the last 9 minutes of the match. .

Following the refusal of this request, the club did not stop there and filed an appeal with the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport). The club have decided to maintain their desire to replay the remainder of the match, following the “serious damage” caused by this error, due to the “unfortunate and negligent behavior of the refereeing corps, in particular the VAR.”

Even more surprising: Cadiz also wanted to request a “precautionary measure”, consisting… in suspending the championship until a solution is found.
