Football: PSG always thinks of the Stade de France

The future of PSG at the Parc des Princes is going to be a very long soap opera. Between successive statements, bluffs, political and media pressure. While waiting to officially renew contact with the Paris City Hall, the leaders of PSG are not sitting idly by. According The Team, they are seriously considering filing a file to acquire the Stade de France. A possibility that takes on new meaning since the current concession of the SDF ends on July 1, 2025. At that time, two options are possible, either the enclosure of Saint-Denis will be bought, or a concessionary call for tenders will be offered.

For the leaders of PSG, the Stade de France, which had never been a serious hypothesis, so attached was the club to the Parc des Princes, its only lair since its creation in 1970, becomes a more than credible track. For several months, PSG has been trying to convince the Paris City Hall to sell it the Parc des Princes. A proposal that was brushed aside by Anne Hidalgo, the mayor (PS) of Paris.

Other hypotheses are being studied, such as the construction of a new stadium, but this major project poses more problems than it solves. Moving to the Stade de France would be an intermediate solution.

The price of the Stade de France is estimated at 600 million euros. To which should be added the price of the renovation works in order to adapt it to the needs of a football club. PSG has commissioned a company, Legends, to conduct market research and find out about the transformation of the stadium into a real football pitch.

At the beginning of the month, L’Equipe assured that Fifa was interested in buying the Seine-Saint-Denis enclosure. What the organization had firmly denied in the process.

Since its completion in 1998, the Stade de France, which was looking for a time to have one, has never had a resident club because of the multifunctionality of the enclosure. The State remains open to all hypotheses but seems very attached to the multifunctional face of the largest stadium in France, capable of hosting all types of sporting events such as giant concerts.
