On Saturday there was still concern at FC Augsburg that goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz was in danger of failing – this does not seem to be the case now.

Gikiewicz was accidentally hit in the foot by Dayot Upamecano in the 26th minute of a corner in Bayern’s game (3-5). “I don’t know. We have to see,” said the goalkeeper after the game. The goalkeeper said he took a pill and was able to continue playing. More can only be said after further investigation.
The following day there is a slight all-clear. According to kicker information, the Polish keeper suffered a bruised foot, which makes it unlikely that he will fail.
After the defeat, the Augsburgers have come closer to the relegation zone. Bochum (2-0 in Cologne), Hertha (1-1 against Mainz) and VfB Stuttgart (1-1 in Frankfurt) scored in the basement.
Augsburg will welcome Schalke 04, who are also in danger of relegation, next Saturday (3.30 p.m.).
