After his position as assistant coach with the Bayern amateurs, Miroslav Klose is now the head coach of the Austrian Bundesliga. For the world champion of 2014, however, there is a strong headwind.

Miroslav Klose has been criticized for the weak performances of his team SCR Altach and is no longer undisputed. After the 1:2 defeat against SV Ried, Altach dropped back to last place in the table.

Some are already calling for the trainer to be dismissed online: “Klose out!” Writes Instagram user “nico27bocki” under the last post from SCR Altach.

Criticism of Klose: “Failed completely as a coach”

“I hope Klose recognizes for himself that he has completely failed as a coach and declares his immediate resignation as a coach,” scolded “berndgachter” and demanded: “Please take the entire board with him, because they should have been replaced years ago!”

“benniallgauer” was also angry: “Every U12 player shows more fighting spirit than any of you dream dancers.”

Sea ORF Klose is no longer undisputed internally either. “We will evaluate that internally together,” Altach’s sporting director replied when asked how the 2014 world champion would continue.

No win since October

World champion Klose’s team has been in a crisis for a long time. Altach have been waiting for a win since October 23, 2022. The formation chosen by Klose for the basement duel with Ried also caused astonishment.

After right-back Manuel Thurnwald hadn’t even been in the squad in the past three games, he was allowed to appear as a playmaker in central midfield right from the start.

Klose’s team has only picked up one point from the past six games. In the last game of the regular season, Altach meets champions Red Bull Salzburg and there is a high probability that they will not win a point there either. After the regular round, the Austrian league is divided into the championship round of the top six teams and the qualifying round of the last six teams.

Klose himself still has hope

For Altach, it is important to collect enough points from the remaining ten games in the qualifying round in order to avoid last place and the associated relegation.

The team from Voralberg has been represented in Austria’s highest division for ten years and celebrated its greatest success to date in the 2014/15 season with third place.

For Klose it is the first station as head coach, having previously worked as an assistant coach for the second team at FC Bayern Munich. Klose himself wants to continue on the common path and speaks of the hope that still exists.
