Europa League: after the spanking, Manchester United is recovering

A few days after a historic humiliation against Liverpool in the Premier League (7-0), Manchester United played big in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa League. A new defeat and, in the end, a possible elimination would have cost the Mancunians dearly. Fortunately, FC Barcelona’s scorers in the previous round have found their colors.

Betis Sevilla paid the price. Manchester won 4-1 and took a serious option on qualification. The Mancunians opened the scoring thanks to the inevitable Marcus Rashford from the start (6th). Sevilla sent a shiver through the bays of Old Trafford by equalizing half an hour into the game (Perez, 32nd) but the Mancunian machine did not doubt.

The minimum for Juve without Pogba punished

In the second half, Antony (52nd), Bruno Fernandes (58th) and Weghorst (81st) shielded United from Spanish ambitions. Manchester will have to finish work in a week but the hard part is done. In the other matches of the evening, Juve without Pogba, punished for arriving late at the rally the day before, is content with the minimum vital against Freiburg (1-0). Angel Di Maria is the scorer of the evening. AS Roma got the better of Real Sociedad in one of the clashes of the evening (2-0).
