Euroleague: Another problem for Real Madrid in the direction: Williams-Goss also falls

Real Madrid travels to Istanbul this Monday to face the match against Anadolu Efes which was postponed in its day by the earthquakes that Turkey experienced. And the whites, with new physical problems, have gone with Sergio Rodríguez as the only pure point guard. He and Adam Hanga will be the ones who take the helm the most of a team that hopes to put their qualification for the playoffs in the quarterfinals on track.

Nigel Williams-Goss suffered a puncture in Sunday’s game against Surne Bilbao Basket and the tests to which it has been subjected have shown that it issuffers a tear in the abductor. “He will not travel,” confirmed Chus MateoAlthough the coach still does not know the extent of the injury: “We won’t know for a couple of days if it is grade 1 or 2.”

The loss of the American point guard adds to that of Sergio Llullwho suffered an injury to the internal lateral ligament of his left knee during the Copa del Rey quarterfinal match, and that of Carlos Alocen, who has not played for more than a year due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. “In these long injuries there can be problems. He has had to stop at some point. The mentality of the medical staff and the coach is for him to recover well. You have to be patient and not set dates,” explained the coach about the young point guard hand.

The good news is that Guerschon Yabusele has entered the Madrid expeditionbut “I don’t know if he will be able to play,” explained Mateo, who has been dealing with different physical problems in his squad all year: “Injuries alter plans, but the coming and going of players complicate things.”
