‘Difficult trainer negotiations at Club Brugge with Alfred Schreuder, another solution presents itself’

Club Brugge is looking for a new trainer. A successor seems to be ready, but negotiations are difficult. Another solution presents itself.

Club Brugge experienced a downfall on the Benfica field. It lost 5-1 and was so mercilessly kicked out of the Champions League. Scott Parker’s days at Club seem numbered.

The rumors are getting louder and louder that Alfred Schreuder will become a trainer at Club again. According to The last news negotiations are in full swing, but they would be difficult.

Schreuder would like to have a long-term contract this time and not an indefinite contract like last season. But Club does not want to offer a long-term contract again, as they had done with Parker (until mid-2025). That would be the main reason why the negotiations are so difficult.

Club is also increasingly looking to resolve the matter internally. Nicky Hayen, trainer of Club NXT in the Challenger Pro League, would be the most concrete track. He would also be assisted by people with know-how and experience. There are plans to bring back Michel Preud’homme, but the question is whether that would work.
