FFor darts player Fallon Sherrock, the next milestone is meant to be just the beginning of something bigger. “It’s been a long time coming!! Hopefully just the first of many,” Sherrock wrote on Twitter late Saturday night after becoming the first woman to score a nine-darter at a World Association PDC event.
A nine-darter denotes the perfect game where the score of 501 is zeroed with the minimum number of nine darts. The 28-year-old Sherrock accomplished this on Saturday in Hildesheim.
She was “completely amazed” by the reactions and “very happy” to be the first woman to throw a nine-darter in a PDC event. At the 2020 World Cup, the Englishwoman was the first woman to win twice against men.
After the successes over Ted Evetts (England) and Mensur Suljovic (Austria) at the most important tournament in the world, the big breakthrough has been a long time coming.
