Curry’s new deal with Under Armor is beyond anything imaginable

Steph Curry and the sports equipment firm Under Armour have reached a new tie-in deal that could keep the NBA superstar committed to the company for the rest of his life.

The parties made the extension public this Thursday and although the figures of the new agreement have not been made public, some reports point to an income guaranteed by the player of the Warriors that would exceed their contract earnings in the NBAthat is to say, more than 300 million dollars.

As part of the extension, Under Armor named the point guard Warriors 35-year-old as ‘Curry Brand President’, a position that will give the player a say in how the company produces products related to basketball, golf, as well as others for women and youth.

“What we want to do is win every day,” said AU founder, Kevin Plankabout the new contract. “If we do that, this will be a deal for life.”

The founder of Octagon, Phil of Picciotto whose agency helped broker the new deal, added: “If done right, this partnership is forever.”

“Curry Brand is now entrenched in the Under Armor universe,” said de Picciotto. “He’s not just an ambassador. He’s not just a sponsor. This isn’t just a deal. He’s going to run a business.”

The agreement appears to be similar to the lifetime agreement that the friend of Curry, LeBron Jamessigned with Nike in 2015.

Curry, who first signed with UA in 2013, said Thursday that he was excited about everything. “Belief is a big part of who I am on and off the court,” he said. Curry. “I believe in Curry Brand and Under Amour, the team now in place and what we’re doing together.”
