Competition sanctions Jeremías Ledesma and Iza Carcelén with four and three games

MADRID, 15 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has penalized the Cádiz footballers Jeremías Ledesma and Isaac Carcelén with four and three matches respectively for their behavior in last Friday’s match against Getafe in LaLiga Santander.

The Argentinian goalkeeper received this punishment for causing minor violence towards the refereeing body since, according to the minutes of Alejandro Hernández Hernández, “he pushed a teammate” so that he would hit the Canarian referee. The Cádiz club presented allegations considering that there was a “manifest material error”, but the Competition dismissed them and ruled this minimum suspension between the range of 4-12 for not having “an aggressive spirit”.

For his part, the Cádiz side was penalized for hitting “with his hand on the head of an opponent” when the match had already ended. The club also filed an appeal but it was also dismissed.

In addition, the RFEF body also suspended Diego Ribera, one of coach Sergio González’s assistants, with four games, Manuel Bocardo, the goalkeeper coach, with two, and fined Cádiz 1,500 euros for allowing the presence on the field of Juan Cala, who does not have a file.

The Cadista team reacted to these sanctions and, although they recalled their “absolute respect for the disciplinary bodies of the RFEF”, they stressed that they were “absolutely unfair and contrary to the law, as well as disproportionate, excessive and clearly harmful” for the entity and the sanctioned people.

“That is why, in order to preserve and protect the rights and interests of our footballers and technical staff, as well as those of the club itself, at a decisive moment of absolute importance for the entity and the future of the competition, the legal services will present the corresponding allegations, in order to prevent the entity and our players from being seriously harmed by a resolution that, in our understanding, is completely unfair and contrary to law,” he said.
