club threatened with baseball bats, game canceled

Zapping Foot National Interview – The underside of amateur football, with Romain Molina

New fact in the world of amateur football. This Sunday, FC Saint-Méziéry traveled to the CS Sedan Ardennes reserve lawn as part of a Regional 1 championship match. A meeting that could not be held, although the visitors did took a six-hour bus ride…for nothing. Indeed, as reported by L‘East Lightning, the Saint-Méziéry players were taken to task by spectators present at the André-Victoor stadium as well as players from the previous match (Sedan Torcy against Château-Porcien). One of the players would have exchanged a few words with a spectator before it turned into a fight… and baseball bats came out!

The Simates then returned to the Sedan locker room before being evacuated by the police following the referee’s decision to cancel the meeting. It now remains to be seen whether the match will be replayed soon… or not!
