Borussia Dortmund is still hoping for regular goalkeeper Gregor Kobel to play in the second leg of the Champions League on Tuesday (9 p.m. / Amazon Prime Video) at Chelsea.

A few minutes before the Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig (2-1), the recently highly praised first-choice goalkeeper complained of muscle problems in his thigh and was out at short notice. At the final training session in London, Kobel underwent a stress test.
Whether the 25-year-old Swiss will return to the goal should be decided at short notice. “Gregor has had treatment over the past two days, he’s feeling better every day. Tomorrow morning we’ll decide whether it’s enough for a mission,” said coach Edin Terzic in London.
Donyell Malen, who missed Hoffenheim like Kobel, will certainly return. “He’s an option again for tomorrow,” said Terzic. He has to do without the suspended Julian Ryerson and the injured Karim Adeyemi, the match winner in the 1-0 first leg.
Although Chelsea are still looking for form in the Premier League and are only in tenth place, Terzic spoke of a “brutally difficult task”: “We saw the potential of this team in the first leg. The place in the table does not correspond to the qualities.”
