Carbonne: A weekend of judo!

After three years of interruption, the Carbonne interclub competition found its judokas on March 18 and 19 at the Abbal College gymnasium, transformed for the occasion into a super dojo.

This weekend started with a baby judo activity on Saturday afternoon, with about fifty little ones, between 4 and 5 years old, who had a bad time on the tatami mats of the gymnasium.

Taking advantage of this beautiful facility, a jujitsu course was organized with the participation of some Volvestre clubs, i.e. around thirty jujitsukas. This course led by Professor de Carbonne, Marjorie Gauthier, 4th Dan black belt, delighted the public present.

Big day for Sunday: individual competition for the categories from mini chicks to cadets, and in mixed teams (3 men and 2 women) for juniors and seniors.

Coming from 28 different clubs, a total of nearly 435 judokas walked the Carbonnais tatami mats.

Mr. Denis Turrel, mayor of the town, during his visit was able to realize the commitment and the quality of the competitors.

Supervised by the Club’s president, Pierre Bullara, these days were able to be organized thanks to the support of referees and official sports stewards, as well as the unfailing work of many volunteers from the Carbonne Judo Club and teachers.

“See you next year for a new edition” concluded President Bullara.
