Burgos judokas obtained a total of eight podiums in the Castilla y León Junior Championship played this past weekend at the Pilar Fernández Valderrama Sports Center in Valladolid. Undoubtedly it is a good number of metals achieved by a group of young judokas, since the majority still belonged to the cadet category.
The balance was specifically of a gold, three silver and four bronze medals. champion of Castilla y León was proclaimed Cristina Penaof the Club Grandmontagne, in the category of more than 78 kilos. While, runners-up regional were Alfredo del Val, of the Club Grandmontagnein less than 81 kilos; Gael Omaof the Judo Club Suzaku, in less than 60 kilos; and Mencia Alonsoalso of the Club Suzakuin less than 48 kilos.
Finally, they got the Third place four more judokas: Sebastian Adrian Bernuyof the Club Suzakuin less than 81 kilos; Andrea Garcia, of the Grandmontagnein less than 52 kilos; Iker Cocaof the Club Suzaku, in less than 73 kilos; and Victor Gutierrezof the Club Suzakuin less than 60 kilos.
Some of these judokas can be summoned with the team of Castile and Leon who will participate in the Northwest Sector Phase qualifying for the Spanish Junior Championshipin which he will have as rivals the teams of Galicia, Cantabria and Asturias.
