Will Bayern lose the lead in the table? Three games are scheduled for Sunday in the Bundesliga. Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt started things off.

1. FC Union Berlin vs. Eintracht Frankfurt 2:0

Three days after the end of the Europa League, 1. FC Union Berlin underlined its Champions League ambitions in the Bundesliga. Coach Urs Fischer’s team won 2-0 (0-0) against Eintracht Frankfurt at their home stadium An der Alten Försterei on Sunday. Rani Khedira in the 53rd minute and Kevin Behrens in the 75th minute scored the goals for the 14th Bundesliga win of the season. Due to the success, the Berliners moved up to third place and are already eight points ahead of Frankfurt in sixth place. Eintracht was eliminated in the Champions League round of 16 in Naples on Wednesday.

From 5.30 p.m. Bayer Leverkusen will welcome Bayern Munich. In the event of a defeat for the record champions, the fight for the championship would increase in tension because BVB would remain at the top of the table. At 7.30 p.m. Mainz 05 meets SC Freiburg.
