Baseball player Hernán Pérez replaces Miguel Rojas in the Venezuelan roster

Caracas.- This Thursday, March 2, it was confirmed that Hernán Pérez will take his place on the roster.

The utility with experience in the Major Leagues, Mexico and the LVBP has already represented Venezuela in the Caribbean Series and the World Baseball Classic.

In fact, Pérez was part of the Leones del Caracas team from Venezuela that fell in the final against the Dominican Republic in the last Caribbean tournament.

During 2022, the veteran baseball player was in the triple A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, in addition to playing in the Mexican Baseball League with the Tijuana Bulls. He also had an outstanding performance in the recent LVBP harvest with the Cardenales de Lara.

In principle, Pérez arrives with a secondary role to offer his experience in the WBC of 2019.

For his part, Miguel Rojas will not play with Venezuela in the Classic after the Los Angeles Dodgers reached an agreement. Gavin Lux’s recent knee injury leaves the shortstop free for the criollo in the organization.

Following a meeting with Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, general manager Brandon Gomes and manager Dave Roberts on Tuesday, all parties decided it would be best if the Los Teques native did not participate in the tournament.

Therefore, he will stay training ahead of the start of the MLB regular season in his 2023 campaign.
