Preparation has begun for Mediolanum New Rimini in view of the next Serie B baseball championship. The debut, in group C, in which the team from Rimini was included, is scheduled for the weekend of 15-16 April at home against the ‘cousins’ of Rimini 86. The teams from Fano, Torre Pedrera, Potenza Picena, Foggia, Cupramontana and Unione Picena 2 complete the group.
There is the confirmation of the main sponsor Mediolanum, thanks to the agreement favored by Banca Mediolanum Office of Consultants Rimini and the convinced support of the Wealth Advisor Alessandra Cellucci. The name of the team will therefore be Mediolanum New Rimini. Aon Advisory and Solutions and Erba Vita will also be at New Rimini’s side, together with numerous local companies that will be presented on the first day of the championship.
The Rimini manager Gilberto Zucconi will be the technical guide. Alongside him Gastone Zucconi and technicians who will add their great experience to technically improve the various sectors of the team.
Daniele Del Bianco is confirmed in the role of pitching coach, while the new entries Mario Chiarini and Lorenzo Avagnina are coaching the hitters. To act as a link between the team and the club, in the role of team manager, Andrea Evangelisti.

Meanwhile, there is a change from what was announced in December, when an agreement was finalized for the technical direction of Alessandro Maestri. The former great pitcher from Rimini will continue to follow the events of the team ‘from afar’ and liaise with the technicians, but the call from the Major League was essential, with the position of pitching coach in the organization of the Pittsburgh Pirates within an academy youth in the Dominican Republic.
Davide Ruggeri will join the technical group who, after the serious accident suffered last year, decided to stay close to his former teammates and start a new management experience.
As for the roster, the arrivals of 21-year-old pitcher Daniel Muzzarelli, Italian and Venezuelan passport, last year in Serie A in Rovigo should be recorded.
Tommaso Signorile from Pianoro joins the role of receiver and Tomas Canuti from Rimini from Longbridge Bologna as utility.
